THERE IS A CLOCK TICKING
When you hear a clock ticking you know that time is passing, but do you know what time it is? Not unless you look at the clock. The Bible talks a lot about time. Ecclesiastes 3 is all about time. The Message version puts it like this:
There’s a Right Time for Everything
3 There’s an opportune time to do things, a right time for everything on the earth:
2-8 A right time for birth and another for death,
A right time to plant and another to reap,
A right time to kill and another to heal,
A right time to destroy and another to construct,
A right time to cry and another to laugh,
A right time to lament and another to cheer,
A right time to make love and another to abstain,
A right time to embrace and another to part,
A right time to search and another to count your losses,
A right time to hold on and another to let go,
A right time to rip out and another to mend,
A right time to shut up and another to speak up,
A right time to love and another to hate,
A right time to wage war and another to make peace.
Yes. There is a time for everything, but how many of us really know what time it is? Do you sometimes feel like the author of Ecclesiastes? He goes on to say:
9-13 But in the end, does it really make a difference what anyone does? I’ve had a good look at what God has given us to do—busywork, mostly. True, God made everything beautiful in itself and in its time—but he’s left us in the dark, so we can never know what God is up to, whether he’s coming or going. I’ve decided that there’s nothing better to do than go ahead and have a good time and get the most we can out of life. That’s it—eat, drink, and make the most of your job. It’s God’s gift.
14 I’ve also concluded that whatever God does, that’s the way it’s going to be, always. No addition, no subtraction. God’s done it and that’s it. That’s so we’ll quit asking questions and simply worship in holy fear.
Well, I don’t agree with this sentiment, because there were these guys called the sons of Issachar and they were “…men who understood the times, with knowledge of what Israel should do…” 1 Chronicles 12:32. Additionally, the Apostle Paul says in:
Titus 1:1-3
1 Paul, a bond-servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, for the faith of those chosen of God and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness, 2 in the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised long ages ago,3 but at the proper time manifested, even His word, in the proclamation with which I was entrusted according to the commandment of God our Savior,
If the sons of Issachar knew the times and what Israel should do and there is a proper time for everything, then it makes perfect sense to me that we should desire to be like those sons of Issachar to know what time it is and what we and our countrymen should be doing at this time.
If this is true, then what time is it? Many would say it is the End Times. And I would agree. However, the end of what? Now, that is up for discussion.
Whatever you believe, I think we can agree on a few things. Times are changing. We are entering a new season. To fulfill our destinies in the coming days, we will need to listen to the leading of the Holy Spirit who is our Helper and guide. John 14:16-17, John 16:13
I teach my son that if each step he takes is the right step, then eventually he will reach his goal. More importantly than a big word for the Church or the Nation, we need to know what time it is for us on a personal level. If everyone is doing what they are supposed to be doing, when they are supposed to be doing it, where they are supposed to be doing it, then the Church and the Nation will be headed in the right direction as a whole.
Kim Clement has this saying about standing at the right place at the right time, for the right reason at the right season. Yeshua came at the proper time and fulfilled all of the messianic prophecies. This took correct timing. What if Joseph or Mary or any number of people, including Yeshua himself had not listened to the word of the Lord whether delivered by an angel or a voice from Heaven? What if the Wise Men had not understood the signs of the times? What if the problems we are encountering are because we have missed our timing? What are the signs of the times, not just generally, but individually?
How about asking the Lord, “Am I standing at the right place at the right time, for the right reason at the right season? Am I doing what I am supposed to be doing right now? What is my season? ” If you are not in the right place, let Him move you. If you are not doing what will lead you to your destiny, then let Him get you back on track. Your part is important to us all. We all hear a clock ticking, but what time is it for you?
Love and blessings!
