A Christmas Lullaby Revelation

It happened Sunday morning while the worship team was singing Silent Night. It jumped out to me from one of the lines.

Glories stream from heaven afar

Then the message of our Savior who was born that night preached 30 years later as he began His earthly ministry found its way into my head.

Matthew 4:17.
From that time Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

What happened that night so long ago was that the Creator was born as a man and brought the Kingdom of Heaven to Earth. What was once afar was now near. Yeshua then grew up in the same manner as His creation, mankind. He did so to redeem us.

Son of God, love’s pure light
Radiant beams from thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace

This Christmas lullaby holds such a powerful message of truth. The Kingdom came to Earth the night our Savior was born. When Yeshua began his ministry 30 years later, He announced that the Kingdom was now near, even at hand. It was no longer far off. His implication was that all we have to do is reach out and take it.

How, then, can we take hold of the Kingdom of Heaven? By faith, of course! We repent and get baptized and receive the Holy Spirit who is our teacher, guide, friend, helper and so much more. He is even a down payment to what our future holds for all eternity as we rule and reign with Yeshua.

Ephesians 1:13
In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of the promise,

2 Corinthians 1:21-22 NASB
Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us is God, who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a pledge.

You see, when we choose to believe and receive Yeshua as our Lord and Savior by repenting and getting baptized, he seals us into His Kingdom through the Holy Spirit. We become Kingdom citizens with all the rights and privileges of a Kingdom Citizen.

Yeshua then spent the next 3 ½ years preaching, teaching, and demonstrating what the Kingdom is like. In the Kingdom, there is love, joy, peace, health, provision, acceptance, purpose, relationship, and everything we need for life and Godliness. Does all of this manifest in our lives all of the time? Of course not! Our job though is to reach out and take what belongs to us and keep reaching out and taking it by faith until it does manifest in our lives.

The Kingdom is no longer afar. It is near. Even at hand. It is in us, and we are in the Kingdom. What a revelation to grasp. May we endeavor to study the Kingdom in great depth that we “…may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled to all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:18-19 NASB
