Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! It is now 2019.

For me personally, 2018 was an okay year. There were a few challenges like the time I had to battle salmonella poisoning, but mostly it was blessed. I got to share the Gospel truth with a few people and be a blessing. I started recording my teachings on The Feasts of the Lord and posting them online. I made some divine connections that I believe will bear fruit in the coming year and all of my bills were paid with money left in the bank on December 31st. However, I believe 2019 will be my best year yet and I pray it is for you as well.

So… what does this new year hold for us? The Scripture the Lord gave me for 2019 is Job 22:28 NASB, but I really like it in The Message which puts it in context in such a beautiful way. I am sharing both versions here with you.

Job 22:28 NASB

“You will also decree a thing, and it will be established for you;
And light will shine on your ways.

Job 22:28-30 The Message (MSG)

 “You’ll take delight in God, the Mighty One,
and look to him joyfully, boldly.
You’ll pray to him and he’ll listen;
he’ll help you do what you’ve promised.
You’ll decide what you want and it will happen;
your life will be bathed in light.
To those who feel low you’ll say, ‘Chin up! Be brave!’
and God will save them.
Yes, even the guilty will escape,
escape through God’s grace in your life.”

The Lord also gave me a word about joy and entering the promised land. I really believe as we read both of these versions, it will give us a fuller picture and understanding of what the Lord has planned for the coming year. This scripture passage in Job, especially in The Message version, wraps up all of the Words I heard. It speaks about joy and being brave and instructs us on the way to gain victory …decree a thing!

As we enter into 2019 with all of the opportunities, blessings and, yes, battles too, Selah on these verses. During 2019, we will begin to take our promised land, but it will take defeating some giants and bringing down some walls to possess the promises. It will take courage and boldness. It will mean decreeing some things and speaking them into existence by faith. However, the most important thing that it will take is delight in God, the Mighty One, and looking to him joyfully.

As we spend time with the Lord through prayer and studying His word, we will be bathed in light and the light will shine on us and our path. As we walk in this light, we will get to where we are going and receive all that the Lord has promised us. As we are blessed, we will bless others. We will be able to encourage them and even the guilty will escape through God’s grace in our lives. We will become living sacrifices showing others the way to the Almighty. I don’t know about you, but that brings joy to my heart! When the battles rage this year, think back on this word and say, like our Lord Jesus, that for the joy set before us we endured the cross.

As I close, I pray that during 2019…

“…that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man,  so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.”

Ephesians 3:16-19 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

Blessings and joy,
